چکیده
1. For six months, Young and Beregi(1) studied the effectivenss of chlorophyllin copper complex among 62 female patients, aged 65 or older, in a large geriatric hospital. One subgroup of 32 incontinent patients had foul fecal odor. A second subgroup of 30 patients had problems with constipation, hypochondria symptoms, and excessive flatus. Dosage was 100 mg. Three times daily for the first seven days, and 100 mg. Twice daily thereafter.

Ethnobotanical Applications and Their Correspondence with Phylogeny in Apiaceae-Apioideae
The Apiaceae family includes some of the most known medicinal, food and spice species in the world some of which have been used by humans since antiquity. Local people in different regions use many species of the family but the information regarding their uses is scattered. Traditionally used species are good candidates for bioprospecting. Combining traditional uses with phylogenetic data helps...
متن کاملZygotic activity of the nullo locus is required to stabilize the actin-myosin network during cellularization in Drosophila.
Cellularization of the Drosophila embryo requires the establishment of a hexagonal network of actin and myosin filaments that are interconnected around the nuclei in the cortex of the syncytial blastoderm. This cytoskeletal network provides the framework and possibly the contractile force for the membrane invaginations that synchronously subdivide the syncytial embryo into individual cells. Zyg...
متن کاملThe nullo protein is a component of the actin-myosin network that mediates cellularization in Drosophila melanogaster embryos.
After the 13th nuclear division cycle of Drosophila embryogenesis, cortical microfilaments are reorganized into a hexagonal network that drives the subsequent cellularization of the syncytial embryo. Zygotic transcription of the nullo and serendipity-alpha genes is required for normal structuring of the microfilament network. When either gene is deleted, the network assumes an irregular configu...
متن کاملEthnopharmacology in Ireland: an overview
The aim of this review was to extract information of the book Medicinal Plants in Folk Tradition: An Ethnobotany of Britain & Ireland published in 2004 by Allen and Hatfield, to give an overview of plants with medicinal potential and their applications. This study attempts to attest, observe and comment on the diversity of plants, as well as the accompanying information which inevitably is vita...
متن کاملMedicinal plants uses of the Tacana, an Amazonian Bolivian ethnic group.
We present the results of an ethnopharmacological investigation of a Bolivian lowland ethnic group, the Tacana. The Tacana have a long tradition of exchange with highland communities. Though facing rapid acculturation, highlighted by the loss of the Tacana language among the younger generations, the knowledge and uses of medicinal plants are still alive. Of the approximately 450 different plant...
